Diving

The sea around Bonaire and Klein Bonaire is protected and managed by STINAPA through the Bonaire National Marine Park. The Marine Park is from the high water mark to the depth of 60 meters (200ft). Users of the Marine Park have to pay an entrance fee called ‘the Nature Fee’.

By paying the Nature Fee you provide the funds to manage the parks and guarantee our lasting success in nature protection and conservation. Your payment of $25 as a SCUBA diver, or $10 as a non SCUBA diver, covers admission for one calendar year to the Bonaire National Marine Park as well as to the Washington Slagbaai National Park. SCUBA divers display the traditional round tag while non SCUBA divers will receive a diamond shaped tag.

As a Nature Fee tag holder you may enter the Washington Slagbaai National Park free of charge by showing the written receipt of purchase of your tag and a picture ID. This can be your C-card, driver's license, etc. Copies are also accepted.

A one-day pass is also available; for SCUBA diving the one-day pass costs $10. Non SCUBA divers younger than 12 years and residents of the Netherlands Antilles and Aruba are exempt. Please note that the payment of the Nature Fee grants permission to use the BNMP for the specific individual for whom the fee is paid and may not be used by any other individuals.

The Wannadive crew will give you a complete orientation about the National Marine Park, which you will use during you stay. This orientation is mandatory but can be given at any time during opening hours. You also have to make a orientation dive or check dive. You will have to make this dive on the house reef, in front of one of our oceanfront locations. Together with your buddy you do an equipment and weight check. The orientation itself is of course without any costs. If you want to use one of our instructors during the dive, the additional charge will be $ 40,00 p.p.

Wannadive is using international or yoke valve's on the tanks rather than DIN. For those who dive with a DIN connection, we do have adaptors for sale or for rent. During November till May we advise you to wear 3mm full suits, for the 'colder' people we advise 5mm full suits. For the rest of the year a 3mm shorty or full suit is enough. Wannadive offers all PADI, SSI and WOSD courses and specialties!!! For more information you check out the 'book us' tab in the menu.

But Wannadive offers more. As you know, you can change your tanks at least at 4 locations on Bonaire. At all locations we have rinse tanks, showers and gear rooms. We organize daily boat trips to Klein Bonaire or guide you on a shore dive. We offer guided dives for all levels as well as expert dives to the rough East Coast of Bonaire. Come and experience it yourself, the true beauty of this island is underwater!
